Leveraging our Real Estate Relationships

Pre-investment

We maintain and build a broad network of relationships with PropTech entrepreneurs in our focus areas. This provides us with great (proprietary) deal flow, and the ability to quickly identify companies offering solutions to the real estate sector that are both unique and compelling. Combined with our extensive real estate network, this also allows us to rapidly assess the most promising opportunities in real commercial settings. In most cases, we pilot the technology offered by a prospective portfolio company with one of our Limited Partners. Even if the company isn’t a fit for our fund, or isn’t raising capital, we often can provide valuable referrals or assistance – helpful for both the PropTech company and our real estate partners.

Post-investment

GSPV is an active investor that typically takes significant minority positions in our portfolio companies. We contribute to the growth of their businesses and valuation both in the boardroom and at the job site. We provide access to our real estate sector relationships to generate business development opportunities and input to your strategic plan. In some cases, we even take on a sales quota through our sister company GBIS.

GSPV’s management team brings exceptional depth, an excellent track record, along with complementary skills and backgrounds to help our portfolio companies succeed. We believe in making financial returns in synergy with environmental returns. We think and act like the entrepreneurs we back; we find this helps us find and build better portfolio companies and have more fun doing it.

GSPV’s managing partners have been investing in venture capital for a combined 50 years in over 100 portfolio companies. This experience provides a multitude of lessons learned from both successes and failures, to which our portfolio company management teams have access. Our VC track record provides entrepreneurs will confidence that we understand market norms, and have seen enough exceptions to the rule to know that no one size fits all. Most importantly, we have seen dozens of investments through to exit and know how to build companies with that end in mind.
